Inspiration - fun seeker

There was one snowy day, I felt so bored about nothing to do, but my roommate found a hillside around our apartment and came up a fun idea for sledding on it. We don't have sleds so we tried any board-like stuff like an iron pan, an paper box to slide on the hillside. It was so much fun and then I was thinking, in the future, how could we always find those fun ideas and try new stuffs by a ‘fun seeker’?

Problem

People sometimes have no fun idea or spend too much time preparing for the fun. How to help people find ideas to have fun easily and visually cool in the future?

Research

After interviewing 6 people, I summarized 3 typical users that could explain when they need fun and why it is difficult to have fun sometimes.
Nancy
"I want a fun, safe, well-scheduled plan on a good place."
I like traveling and I usually research and plan my schedule for when I do. Safety is a priority and I’ve found that even popular places seem to have issues with it. I want more accurate location recommendations so that I can have more fun and feel safe while doing so.
Alma
"I want to know how long I need wait for lunch in this restaurant."
It is difficult to come up with good ideas on where to hang out. I have to use many apps or websites to search for detail like food, traffic, opening, etc. Sometimes I find a good restaurant but after I go there and find I need to wait for 1 hour.
Josta
"I want to find a partner to play table tennis with me."
I am a graduate student living in an apartment. I like playing table tennis after school but I cannot find a teammate when I want one.

How might we?

Solutions

Competitive Analysis

To understand how users look for fun ideas and places nowadays, I research some apps and analyze the pros and cons.
Yelp
Users could search for the recommendation of food, living, delivery, shopping stores SPAs, etc.

Yelp provides the filters for users to set users' preferences like different types of food, distances to the stores.

Users could like or comment on a restaurant with pic, grades, texts.  

Yelp provides users with some coupons and deals to encourage users to shop.    
Waze
Share road situations, police, food in real-time. Because drivers need change plans when anything on the road happened
Google map
Stores and restaurants were shown on the map by location.

'For you' feature could recommend good place that fits your interest and preference

Conclusion for design features:
1. To design a Match degree, an index that shows if it fits into your preference, habits, and interest, not the general for everyone.
2. Information show up by distance in real time
3. To provide promo information like big sales and coupons too.

Workflow

AI smart houses could analyzed the habits and interests of the residents and also monitor the surroundings around the house.
Residents could set their goals and preference for the system, and also share their fun experiences.
Snapfun could analyze information like weather, habits of residents,
Then Snapfun combines information with shared experiences from other users with a similar situation and searches what is fun around the residents.

Technology

First version

For the first time, I tried to simplify the way to show the information by icon, color, and charts instead of texts. Then I got some critiques from my professor and friends.

1. good simplify the process but too many different colors to remember.
2. Color is a little bit of cartoon

Easy and fun interaction way! Just a snap to begin the fun. actions will vary from different fun activities
The cost part provides the real information you might need to notice like the available seats of the restaurant. Different cost types are indicated by different colors for users to distinguish. time cost it green, money cost is yellow, the special requirement is red.
Danger degree panel details provide the potential things you need to notice like it has hidden charge or the crime rate around this area and time is high.
